Snow guns are in place and currently awaiting cold weather to arrive! With a drop in temperature and humidity Bear could be open and as little as 3 days from the start of continuous snowmaking. curious about how we make REAL snow

Now that the Bike Park is officially closed for the summer season we can really start getting excited for the winter season. Just like Bear Mountain we’re ready to make snow! The snow guns are up on the hill ready to go, now we just need Mother Nature to cooperate and bring us some cold dry air! At this point Snow Summit and Bear Mountain have no set opening date. As soon as we have an opening date we will have it posted here on the website as well as all our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@Snow_Summit)

This weekend will be the last weekend for hiking and mountain biking at Snow Summit. Make your plans now to come up and enjoy the trails one last time before we close down and skiers and snowboarders take over the slopes. Last Weekend for Mountain Biking
Last night’s quick snow storm left us with 1-3 inches of new snow on the ground. The forecast for the rest of the week looks like it is going to warm back up to the 60′s during the daytime. Although mother nature seems to be playing games with us it is still not enough snow to give us a good kick start to the season, but it sure is getting us really excited about the upcoming winter.
Winter weather is on it way to Big Bear with up to 8 inches expected though this evening and into tomorrow morning. Here at the Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair, we are waiting to see what weather comes with this storm brings before we can determine whether we will be open this weekend for hiking and mountain biking
